TOXICITY

IRINOTECAN

  • myelosuppression

  • diarrhea (both forms may be severe):
    • early:
      • accompanied by other cholinergic symptoms (rhinitis, increased salivation, miosis, lacrimation)
      • treatable with ATROPINE
    • late:
      • prolonged
      • causes dehydration, electrolyte imbalances and sepsis that may be life-threatening
      • treated with LOPERAMIDE
