AdaptationAdaptation: process by which the response to a CONSTANT stimulus DECLINES over time

  • is observable in the receptor potential
  • if the change in receptor potential occurs SLOWLY, the response is called TONIC (B) ; if it occurs RAPIDLY, it is called PHASIC (C)
