Description:
Trance music, like techno, is electronic music. Trance, however, is characterized by a tempo of 130-160 BPM (beats per minute). It features repetitive synthetic phrases, and generally builds up or down in the music. The music is said to put the listener into a trance, thus taking the name Trance music.
Roots:
Trance music derived from techno, house, industrial, and electronic art music. It takes most of its influence from techno however.
