Frequently asked questions about the course:
Can I use a previous edition of the textbook?
The classical physics covered in this course has been
developed in the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth
centuries, and you can certainly learn it from any recent textbook. In
fact, you are encouraged to consult other textbooks and compare their
ways of explaining the material. However, the numbering of the problems
and occasionally the sequence in which the material is presented can
change from edition to edition. If you use an older version, it will be
up to you to make sure that you do the correct homework. There will be
no credit for solving unassigned problems.
