In this day of age, I don't think that very many people can be called a Renaissance person. There is so much knowledge out there it is hard to learn most of it. Now people are specialized in one or two fields of study. In one subject, there may be many subtopics of study. For example history. There are many fields of history like American history, Chinese history, Presidential history, economic history, agricultural history, and much more. If someone is an economic historial, they may have some background of American history, but their study of that may be the economic part of American history.
