Well I would like to start off by saying that the Renaissance was a re-birth of many things including religion. The majority of the world was Catholic and very involved with their relign, unlike people in todays society that takes their religion for granted. The people also had a great love of God and his meaning in their life. They all beleived and went to church, prayed every night, and brought their faith with them where ever they went. In the movie "The Name of the Rose" the religon was a major player in what they were doing and it was the whole basis of the film, but I beleive that people there were just using it as a cover up of their true colors. we all should look to God, or some higher being may you, to find our way in life. But to me the characters in that film were using their religion to disguise the kind of person they really are. I mean if you are that much of a person of the faith then you would not be willing to kill just to hide some manuscript of a person that is no longer alive, just to save yourself. To me the people of the Renaissance time were truly people of discovery and innovations of their time, but in a way we all are. Back then everyone was a revolutionist, they all had a special and unique contribution to where we are a world today. They began to bring together religion, art, science, math, and politics to rebulid and born again a world that is worth while and descerves a second chance. Today we may see the world as corrupt and not a place to bring children into the world, but if we remember what the Renaissance was all about it may just give us a whole new perspective on the world and our faith as we know it.
