Durring the mideival period it was a time for God. All people did things to please their God. It was belived that you must suffer to be loved by God. People were told to not like anything that is on the out side, but love only what is on the inside. On the inside there was only Christ. When you have Christ on the inside you are rich. You don't need any thing else to make you rich. If you love rich things on the outside you are not loving God and therefor are to be punnished. People must remember how Jesus suffered for us as the people of God. The people should suffer just as much if not more, to be delivered from the devil.
The Renaissance is the rebirth of the people. People started to think for them selves. They wanted to do things because they wanted to not because the bible said that they should. For the most part they still loved their God, they just wanted to show it differently. They decided that they were going to just do things there own way. They didn't belive that God put them on this earth to suffer, but rather to discover. They started to discover things for themselves, instead of just beliveing what they were told. They questioned what they were told and wanted it to be true. In some cases it was found to be untrue and they were not allowed to state their disscoveries. This made them want to try even more. They wanted everyone to know the truth. Not that others lied about their knowledge. They just never bothered to see if what they were told was true. The people who made the disscoveries were looked down appon in their time, but are greatly looked up to in our time.
