I just want to thank Holly for such a good question. I guess it would be more of a discussion topic, rather than a question. This forum board is great because we can bounce ideas off people and not be afraid of what people might say. Religion is one of those topics that doesn't have just one answer and I think that is what I love about it. I grew up Lutheran, and I consider myself one but others may not consider me one because of my questionable beliefs. When I was a kid in Sunday school, we would learn all these cool things about Noah and the Ark and Adam and Eve and Moses, it was awesome. I look back at it now and still think the stories are awesome but sometimes I wonder if the stories are made to liven up the religion. To make it fun and believable. After taking so many science classes and learning about evolution, I have tried to come to a happy medium between evolution and creation. As for other religions I find them fascinating and I don't understand how people can turn their noses at other religions when they are usually family beliefs and cultural traditions that have some basis in their world. One of my best friends is Muslim, and I love learning about her beliefs and her practices. Another one of my friends from Wales is an athiest. When I first heard that I was like...oooh, he probably has no morals and he may be evil!!! (How stereotypical and narrowminded can one person be!!!!!)I learned from him that in Great Britain and in that area there are a number of Athiests and that religion is not as necessary as it is here. America is an interesting country because we have freedom of religion which is a privalege ( sorry can't spell that word) that we should not take lightly. One thing that I find funny is that Christianity stems from the Middle East, yet, it is the dominant religion in America. Does that make it right? I think that the only way to find your own personal "religion," is to explore all religions and establish your own belief system.

I am sorry to say that I think that I have spun this away from God and into religion as a whole.

I have a question, why did God create us? Are we slaves to our Lord? Does anyone know? And another question, does anyone in the world still believe in the Greek gods and goddesses? I am interested to know how those beliefs were abandoned, or proved wrong, and is that what our contempory religions have to look forward to?

Thanks all. Sorry if any of this sounds anal. I rambled quite a bit.
