Program: The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory, a major research center, is pleased to announce opportunities for college an university undergraduate students to participate in the Laboratory's ongoing research programs.  College/university students may obtain research experience at Argonne through the Department of Energy's Energy Research Undergraduate Laboratory Fellowship (ERULF) Program or the Student Research Participation Program.  The U.S. Department of Energy ERULF Program is directly sponsoring research participation programs at Argonne and other DOE facilities.  For the ERULF Program, apply through the U.S. Department of Energy's weg page at: http://www.orau.gov/doe_erulf where you can apply to Argonne or ther facilities through the ERULF application.

For the Argonne Student Research Participation Program only, apply through the Division of Educational Programs web page at:  http://www.dep.anl.gov or by application packet which can be obtained by writing or calling the address below.  There is limited, but some, flexibility in the appointment period.  In addition to their research activities, participants attend a series of seminars and tours dealing with current topics in science and engineering.

Areas of Research: Basic scientific research programs in Physical and Life Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.  Also applied research programs relating to Coal, Conservation, Environmental Impact and Technology, Fission, and Fusion Technology.  Vist our Web site at http://www.dep.anl.gov for specific research project descriptions available at Argonne.

Eligibility: Grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien status; sophomore, junior, or senior student enrolled in a U.S. college or university.
