The requestMonitor application can be run here. It illustrates the following:

• A custom validator for a name field that checks for illegal underscores.
• An Ajax request that causes validation each time a character is entered
• A progress bar that is shown while the Ajax request is in progress
• Use of the Protoype library to show and hide the progress bar
• Creating a (hopefully) unique JavaScript namespace for the showProgress function
