More on Table Joins

When two tables are joined for selection, a temporary table is created, each of whose rows is composed of a row from one table joined with a row from the other.

Since the customer table has 4 rows, and the sales_order table has 5 rows, their join has 4 × 5 = 20 rows. So

   SELECT * FROM customer, sales_order;

produces:
