The HyperScribe Tool transcribes a live performance in real time. Use this tool to notate the keyboard performance as it is played. This is an advance Finale feature and not recommended for use in the Computer Music Center.
Use the Tuplet Tooll to create triplets, quintuplets, sextuplets, etc. To create a tuplet, first enter the notes. Select the Tuplet Tool and click on the first note of the desired grouping. This will bring up the Tuplet Definition Window.
The Smart Shape Tool is used to add crescendos, decresendos,slurs, 8va markings, and several kinds of brackets and lines. When you select the Smart Shape Tool, the Smart Shape Palette appears.
Select a shape from the palette. Double click on the the note where the shape will begin.
Drag the shape until the last note is highlighted.
The Articulation Tool adds articulation markings to the score. Select the Articulation Tool and click on the desired note. This will bring up the Articulation Selection Window.
Click on an articulation and press "Select". The articulation will be added to the score.
