winter spring summer fall

Once the snow is gone and the mud of spring dries up, backpackers and campers like to hit the Superior Hiking Trail. The SHT runs for more than 200 miles along the North Shore of Lake Superior, and offers more rocks, trees, streams, waterfalls than you can shake a stick at. One location popular among Woochers is the Caribou River, about two hours from Duluth. Stocked with tall waterfalls, dangerous trails and plenty of pools for cliffjumping, the Caribou River is a rugged extremist's dream.

An old boat sits on the shore near Stony Point, about fifteen minutes from Duluth. The waves of Stony Point are popular among the Superior Surf Club, a group of rugged individuals that surf the chilly waters of Lake Superior.

Summer means all the interesting folk of Duluth can finally get outside and chill along the lakeshore. This fellow and his friends were enjoying a forty. It was 10:00 in the morning.

A Muffler Man stands guard at a go-kart track near Spooner, Wisconsin, an hour from Duluth. These fellows encapsulize the essence of summer.

And finally, fall.
