Georgia reported on the meetings of the Curriculum Subcommittee of the Faculty Council.  It was agreed that AAC would discuss the catalog change policy and concerns about the course proposal forms at a future meeting this spring.

The Liberal Education Subcommittee has set deadlines for course proposal submission. Course proposals must be submitted to the Lib Ed Subcommittee according to the following schedule:

          Summer Session Courses: February 10

          Fall Semester Courses: March 1

          Spring Semester Courses: October 1

Course was approved with the following minor revisions:

 

  • Resubmit changes using the most recent revision of the form: Oct. 2013
  • Committee wondered whether this should be a course change and 3206 should be the new course. If it is not a course change remove info from box on page one.
  • Check course numbering
  • Use check boxes provided on the form
  • #6 Faculty sponsor information missing
  • #11 needs final exam checked and component identified
  • #12 leave blank
  • #14 if this repeatable check yes; otherwise remove digits from the form
  • #15 suggest using“admitted to Block 2” rather than all courses
  • #22 Should refer to impact of course on staffing and financial needs of the dept.
  • #23 provide some information about the types of performance feedback the student teachers will receive
  • #24 strike the word “three” in A “A” is missing;  D misspelling of “compatibility”. Committee questioned if “100% accuracy”is appropriate; licensure requirement?

  • #11 needs final exam checked and component identified

  • #14 if this repeatable check yes; otherwise remove digits from the form
  • #15 Committee suggests “previous course (3205 or new number)”
  • #22 Should refer to impact of course on the staffing and financial needs of the dept.
  • #23 provide some information about the types of performance feedback the student teachers will receive.
