Exposure
Determination
All University of Minnesota Duluth
Employees who, as a result of performing their job duties, may come in
contact with blood, blood products, body fluids, unfixed human cells,
sharps items or other
potentially infectious materials and/or agents are considered to have
occupational exposure to Bloodborne and other pathogens. The following Exposure
Determination Survey will be used to determine employee tasks where
occupational exposure could be reasonably anticipated.
All employees must take necessary precautions to avoid direct contact
with blood, body fluids, and other potentially infectious materials and
items such as sharps, contaminated equipment, except when absolutely
necessary for the performance of their duties.
Employees who must engage in such activities are therefore covered by
this plan and must participate in the survey.
