ITSS manages a number of full-service computer laboratories on campus for use by academic departments, faculty, and students. Funding for these laboratories comes from the ITSS full-access lab fee. Faculty or departments may designate courses that require ITSS lab access; students in the class are then charged the fee and have access. Courses may be scheduled in the labs, depending upon the schedule. For more information about ITSS labs, see our lab web site.
We are now moving into a new phase of student computing on this campus that involves a wider variety of options for student computing and greater responsibility on academic units to provide those options. In particular, academic units have developed programs and fee structures to support computer labs or laptop programs for their students. These can be done in place of, or in addition to, the use of ITSS computer labs.
Units that choose to run computer labs or to offer laptop programs to serve specialized groups of students are invited to contract with ITSS to provide some or all of the following services. Where possible we give costs to be used for planning purposes. Pricing is tied to ITSS Rates, which are subject to change annually.
Services are divided into several categories:
If you have general policy or procedure questions about this document, please contact Linda Deneen, Director of ITSS, 7588 or ldeneen.
If you would like to request services, or if you want to arrange for consulting regarding which services to choose for your project, contact Jason Davis, Manager of Classroom Technology and Customer Service, 8782 or jdavis.
