Dialing 911 from campus

In response to requests from campus police and the St. Louis County 911 Dispatch Center, ITSS made a change in February, 2000 to the campus dialing plan that affects 911 calls.

Everyday, numerous faculty, staff, and students were misdialing long distance calls that ended up as hang up calls to the 911 center. To solve this problem, ITSS added a short delay to the call set up time. It now takes 14 seconds from the moment you dial 911 until it begins to ring at the 911 center.

Be patient and stay on the line - your call will go through.
