If you are recreating your UMD access, after a day or two after completing and submitting your request you will be contacted and given your login name. Then call the helpdesk (726-8847) to force a new password which you must change within 24 hours.
If your account already exists, you will not see any change to your password or current login, just the lack of monthly billing.
