A: Open Symantec Antivirus by clicking the shield icon in the System Tray
For Windows XP, you may have to click the < bracket for your task items to show
Near the bottom right, look for the version of the Virus Definition Files.
If the date is close to todays date, then you are probably ok. Virus definitions
are usually updated every couple of days during high level of virus activity.
Note for Campus Managed Version users - your definition files should automatically be updated by our servers - Unless there is a configuration problem with your installation.
If the definition dates are not updating, or you have a red circle around your taskbar icon please call the ITSS Help Desk at 726-8847 or make arrangements to have your Anti-Virus client checked.
