Let the World See Your Page

Now that you've created a site,

  1. go to the "Files" panel
  2. choose "Local View" from the drop-down menu
  3. click on the file you wish to upload
  4. click on "Put" (the "up" arrow) at the top of the window

Magically (through the power of sftp) your page is put into your account on a remote server (meaning "not on your computer"), and is instantly viewable by the World Wide Web community. The remote server your Web page is on is the Web server maintained by ITSS.

By doing your work locally and sending it to the remote server for public viewing, you have a duplicate of your Web site on your computer. Make sure as you change your pages locally you remember to send them to the remote server when you are happy with them. If you don't update the remote server when you make changes locally the world won't see your changes. This can become very confusing as you may not know what version of your Web site people are seeing.
