Stereotypes are oversimplified assumptions based on a person’s appearance, group membership, or identity. Almost everyone has been stereotyped at one point or another based on looks, race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, ability, economic status, major, or any other reason a person may be grouped.

The UMD Stereotype Project is a public outlet to share your experience and increase awareness of stereotypes that people at UMD face on a daily basis. It challenges you to confront your assumptions and see people as individuals.
