Austin Evenson

Professional title

Senate Director

Bio

Austin is a junior in SCSE, majoring in Biochemistry and Biology. He intends on attending medical school and to have a focus on internal medicine.

Austin is a member of the University and Student Senates, and their consultative committees. He is also a member of the UMDSA Academic Affairs committee and chairs the University of Minnesota Student Senate Committee on Committees.

Some initiatives he is pursuing this year include access to better advising for students that plan to attend professional schools and more representation for UMD in Senate. Austin is also interested in improving credit transfers between the campuses of the University of Minnesota. To do this, he works with a committee on the development of the uAchieve software, which is an upgraded replacement for APAS.

Outside of Student Association, he is involved in Pre-Med Club and intramural sports, as well as research in the Berry Lab of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. He also works as a research assistant for Superior Medical Experts, a medical research consulting firm. Besides these, Austin enjoys watching TV and baking. (He has seen The Office 14 times!)
