John Day is the Program Director for American Indian Projects in the Department of social work. In this capacity he is responsible for overseeing of American Indian initiatives, student support, and outreach activities along with administrative duties within the department.  John was instrumental in the redesign and establishment of the American Indian Community Advisory Council composed of tribal human service workers and elders.  He also teaches the Dynamics of American Indian Families course each Spring Semester. 

John is an enrolled member of the Leech Lake Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. He has 35 years of experience working in Indian education and the health and human service areas.
