| Description of Field Activities |
Field I students will learn basic micro level interventions with clients. They will work directly with the clients on a case by case basis in a group setting. They will be exposed to opportunities to help co-facilitate group sessions and to lead group activities with students. They will also learn the basic organizational aspects to include policies and procedures of a non-profit organization. Field II students will learn more of the macro and mezzo level of practice in our setting. They will be exposed to and participate in decision-making groups around policy changes and changes to the agency. They will be asked to display their abilities to run group sessions and facilitate group activities that they have created. They will also be involved in macro level practice by attending meetings in the community and involving themselves with community projects with the clients. In both field placements the student will have opportunities to research issues of diversity and bring ideas to enhance cultural competency within the organization. |
