Agency Description: MIWRC is a non-profit agency that assists American Indian women so they can enjoy a better quality of life for themselves and their family. Services provided include legal assistance, domestic violence and assault support services, chemical dependency counseling, recovery support and assessment, family-based in-home services, housing access and emergency shelter, childcare, parent education and support.
Description of Field Activities

Educational experiences available to students include:

  • case management services
  • small and large group facilitation (support groups)
  • Indian Child Welfare Act services (courtroom and collaborative services)
  • Cultural Competency/Diversity
  • Program development and planning
  • grant writing
  • community organizing
  • counseling/individualized counseling and group counseling
Approval for Field I, II, Either?? This agency is only approved for Field II placements, as there is presently no MSW on-site to provide supervision. (as of 9/9/05)
