Continuous Service
Eira Bridges
Many people say that Eira is one the best role models in the Office of Financial
Aid and Registrar. She consistently does work that is above and beyond her job
duties. For the last few years, she has voluntarily assisted the degree clearance
coordinator and at commencement just to make sure that everything is going smoothly
for our students. In addition, Eira has been a great help in UMD's student record
conversion project.
Eira also does an excellent job working with the Twin Cities, which is critical
to the success of her department. A major example of that was the conversion
to automated classroom scheduling. She did all the research to make sure of
a successful outcome for UMD. Then, because of her great success, the Twin Cities
folks met with Eira to learn more from her. They ultimately chose the same software
that she was using. A collegiate department head said in a recent e-mail: "Eira,
you do miraculous things! Over and over again! We are eternally grateful!"
Well, we are too. That's why it gives me such great pleasure to grant Eira this
award.
