Continuous Service
Martha Eberhart-Galinski
Martha consistently works above and beyond expectations in her work as a Reference
Librarian. She has special responsibilities for the College of Education and
Human Service professions. Martha is known for having an open-door policy. She
extends any assistance needed to individual library users, often well beyond
the end of the work day.
Martha’s services to the faculty are exemplary. She makes sure they are
well informed, meeting with them regularly to keep them updated on current resources.
Martha has also been tireless in developing strategies with the library’s
technical people and ITSS technicians to get distance education students connected
to needed online resources and she regularly takes the initiative to improve
library services.
Martha is dedicated to the students, faculty and staff, and the UMD library,
and to the library profession. I take pleasure in presenting Martha with this
years Outstanding Service award.
