This past year, Joanne and Renee were the UMD leaders to implement the University's
new electronic billing and payment systen. This project is part of the UMD mission
to continually improve customer service to its students and their families.
Also, during these times of economics hardship, electronic billing brings savings
to UMD by eliminating the expensive and time consuming production of hundred
of thousands of paper billing statements.
The time frame for implementation was extremely short, and the project required
a redesign of the billing statement to make it easier to read and understand.
It also required updating existing web pages and developing new web pages supporting
the UMD implementation. Joanne and Renee accepted the challenge and completed
the project on time including providing training to the staff.
The value of their contribution cannot be overstated. I am proud to present
Joanne and Renee with this Project Award.
