2007-2008 OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARDS
Continuous Service Award
A member of UMD's Commission on Women once referred to Stacey Stark as
a "go-getter." As director of the Geographic Information Systems
Lab with the College of Liberal Arts, "she'd certainly know where

Having developed (and now maintaining) a state-of-the-art GIS facility,
Stacey promotes and elevates GIS at UMD through many forums including
hosting GIS Day events and GIS workshops, teaching independent study courses,
working with collegiate units, publishing, performing research, sporting
an impressive grant record and developing relationships with State agencies.
(Not to mention her open door policy and the steady stream of students
Beyond the campus, Stacy is instrumental in promoting GIS in the region
through the Northern Minnesota GIS User Group. For three years she has
taught an Orienteering/GIS class at Harbor City International School.
She also is very active in working toward increasing the number of women
Stacy is truly a dedicated and enthusiastic professional. It is with
real pleasure that I present this Outstanding Service Award to her.
