2008-2009 OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARDS
Continuous Service Award
Connie Rosandich
It was said of our next recipient, “How can a research faculty member in the middle of a research cruise on an east-African lake hire a local repairman to make sure that a $100,000-plus project does not get completely derailed? Problems such as these, and literally hundreds of others, arise in the course of a year for Connie.”
While it’s clear that Connie Heggestad sorts through some of these more unusual problems, what comes through in her nomination and the many, many letters of support for it, was her steadiness in all aspects of her job and her generosity in volunteering her time to assist others. She is a resource for her administrators and peers in her college, but also for the many departmental staff who have relied on her for years, to assist them in all facets of their own jobs. Connie is recognized as having extraordinary knowledge of EFS, but also for her willingness to help others navigate the complex new system. This is not a new approach for her; as one writer penned, “…Connie has always gone out of her way to help with any issue I bring to her. Being wonderful is her norm!”
For her capable service in guiding her college through CUFS, EFS and the various and sundry (and never-ending) changes that seem to come at us, I am pleased to present this award to Connie.
