Outstanding Service Award Recipient (2010-2011)
Project Award -Construction of the Bagley Classroom Building
Terry Allen, Doug Amys, Leonard Bjornaas, Rodney Bodell, Troy Chalstrom, Cynthia Claus, Susan Connor, Randy Felknor, Thomas Franckowiak, Doug Lamecker, Steve McDonald, and Dwight Olson
The Bagley Classroom, constructed by an in-house Facilities Management Construction team, has received the coveted LEED Platinum certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum is the highest level for the green building certification and UMD is the first state university to achieve it. The Bagley Classroom has also been recognized for several other awards which would reflect on UMD’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
That this group of Facilities Management employees accomplished this feat, which required careful attention to detail, while continuing their normal work of maintaining the UMD campus speaks volumes about their extraordinary teamwork. Terry Allen, Doug Amys, Lenny Bjornaas, Rod Bodell, Troy Chalstrom, Cynthia Claus, Sue Connor, Randy Felknor, Tom Franckowiak, Doug Lamecker, Steve McDonald, and Dwight Olson bring a combined 222 years of Facilities Management experience to this project. It’s reasonable to say that UMD could not have put together a more experienced and knowledgeable group for the project.
On behalf of UMD, and in appreciation for the “bragging rights” they’ve given us through the Bagley Classroom, we are pleased to award this Project Award to Terry, Doug, Lenny, Rod, Troy, Cindy, Sue, Randy, Tom, Doug, Steve and Dwight.
