Outstanding Service Award Recipient
Each semester, Claudia’s job entails overseeing an average of 8,000 tutoring sessions, 100 tutors, 5 student desk attendants, and multiple faculty liaisons from academic programs. On top of that Claudia has voluntarily welcomed about 2,000 students to campus and explained the services provided by the tutoring center during Welcome Week. Claudia’s dedication to detail and commitment to using data to drive decisions is pivotal. Claudia does not shy away from criticism and she incorporates the suggestions for improvement into the daily operations of the Tutoring Center. Claudia created and refined an efficient online tutoring schedule and has designed a marketing campaign of Tutoring Center posters that are displayed around campus.
Currently, the Tutoring Center is in the midst of a move to the Library. Claudia took the initiative to anticipate challenges, such as the location of the Tutoring Center. She sought input from students and desk attendants and presented the results to the planning committee.
For being the ‘heartbeat of the Tutoring Center and for all the lives she’s touched, I proudly present Claudia with this Outstanding Service Award.
