I am currently a MIS major at UMD, trying to figure out a way to merge computer sciences into the business environment. It was because of my love of technology and desire for money that pushed me here, losing me between the lines of computer code and jumbled statistics. Occasionally I wonder where the end of my education resides and how long it will take me to get there. Each drive back home to the Twin Cities is just another reminder of the people I've left behind and the life I yearn to return to.

Life Here
Aerial view of duluthHere in Duluth I play out my role as a student. I try to push myself out of bed every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for my 8 o'clock class which has yet to prove its worth in lost sleep. Perhaps if I were motivated enough to go to bed at a decent time it might be different. More classes are spread throughout my week, representing the closest thing I have to a daily grind.

The Drive
I35Exactly 160 miles south dwells the life I left 1 year ago. Although the scenery of I-35 is quite beautiful, it can become boring rather quickly. This is why a nice selection of music is crucial. With 2 hours of silence to kill you might begin to think deep thoughts and ponder the meaning of life. Jamming to the right music will keep that from happening.

Life There
FramesHome is Maple Grove, a suburb of the Twin Cities. While there I trade in my textbooks for a couple days worth of work building and designing custom framed artworks. You know you've framed pictures too long when you no longer see a painting hanging on an individuals wall but rather the rectangular wooden border surrounding it.
