Inline Layout
Inline layout is important because it is is based upon (and affects) all text and the images within that text, and it can dramatically affect how the page is laid out.

Authors often have questions like: "Why do superscripts and subscripts throw off the line separation?" "Why is line-height being ignored by the browser?" "Why do images mess everything up?" "How does text justification really work?" You might expect that...the height of each line depends on its content, and the styles applied to that content and that he height of each text element depends on the aggregate height of the lines within it...and you'd be correct!
