- University Standards & Policies: The University of Minnesota introduced its first formal IT accessibility policy in 2002, adopted Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA as its web accessibility standard in 2014, and upgraded to WCAG 2.1 Level AA in 2018.
- ADA Title II Final Rule: Under the DOJ's Final Rule (PDF) for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), public universities must ensure websites, mobile apps, course sites, software, and other digital content meet accessibility standards by April 26, 2027.
