Transfering Files to the Web

You'll find directions for setting up Dreamweaver to transfer your files to the Web in Towers' Macromedia Dreamweaver for Window and Macintosh, pg. 551. (You'll need to set up the "Local Info" for the site first, see Towers' page 28)

In the graphic below are the settings to configure your Dreamweaver to transfer (or "FTP") your files to the UMD Web server. Naturally, you'll want to use your own login and password rather than mine. Also, if you're not using your own computer, do not check "Save" to the right of the password box or anyone else using the computer will have privileges to access your files!

You can also use WS-FTP (on PCs), which you can download from c|net.com, and then plug in the same information as appears below. UMD provides directions for using FTP to transfer your files to the Web on its ITSS Web site.
