Thanks, Holly, for the info about Botticelli's "Birth of Venus"! I think it's a beautiful piece of art work. I love the colorfulness of the painting and I love how Botticelli portrays beauty. I like the way he shows the movement of wind not only in Zephyr's breath, but also in the way he makes the characters' hair and draperies flow as if they are being blown in the wind.

I was in Europe this summer and I saw thousands of statuettes of Botticelli's Venus. I opted to buy a print of his painting instead because I like the colorfulness of it so much. Anyway here are some links to go along with this subject. I hope they work out because I haven't done this before.

NOTE: Aphrodite is the name in Greek mythology and Venus is the name in Roman mythology. Both are the same: the goddess of love.
