Franz Schubert: Octet in F Major, D.803


This work is composed for three winds (clarinet, bassoon, and horn), and five strings. Notice that the two woodwinds are bracketed together as are all the strings. Also note that the violins have an additional bracket linking them together. The horn, corno, is the only line not connected to another, since it is the only member of the brass family.
