Professional Interests
I have recently begun work as a Research Associate in the Geographic Information Sciences Laboratory (GISL). I have a background in hydrologic and climate modeling applications with an emphasis in stemming from my graduate work, as well as a population science oriented background in GIS from my previous employment as Assistant Director of the Social Science Research Institute's (SSRI) Geographic Information Analysis Core at Penn State. I have had exposure to a wide variety of topics and funded research projects in the social sciences, as well as primary and collaborative efforts in environmental and earth sciences, and even some larger modeling efforts in the college of engineering. I have experience with custom programming and application development as well as with automation and standardization of the analysis process especially with respect to GIS and database analysis. I also have experience with web technologies and developing spatially enabled project websites. I look forward to continuing GIS research and cultivating relationships as projects develop here at UMD.
