"Individuals who have any disability, either permanent or temporary, which might affect their ability to perform in this class are encouraged to inform the instructor at the start of the quarter. Adaption of methods, materials or testing may be made as required to provide for equitable participation."

 

Tutoring Center

We have an excellent staff and corps of peer tutors at the Tutoring Center to help you with your special situations.

  • located in Campus Center 40, by "The Wedge"
  • offers one-on-one peer tutoring services at no cost to the student
  • normally posts its operating hours early in the quarter, but they are usually open 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. MTWTh, and 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Fridays

Students with disabilities

We also have an excellent staff in the UMD Disability Resources Office. The UMD Disability Resources Office provides Disability Services at the University of Minnnesota Duluth.

  • located in the Multicultural Student Union, on the 2nd floor of Kirby Student Center
  • promotes both academic and physical access to students with disabilities, providing services on an individual and flexible basis.
  • normally posts its operating hours early in the quarter, but they are usually open 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Supportive Services Program

We also have an excellent staff working with the UMD Supportive Services Program (SSP). The UMD Supportive Services Program is here to help students succeed.

  • located in Campus Center 60, by "The Wedge"
  • SSP offers support through dedicated faculty and advisers, peer teaching assistants and tutors, and a focused curriculum of basic math, study strategies, writing, personal development, and training to enable students to achieve academic success
  • normally posts its operating hours early in the quarter, but they are usually open 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
