One last narrow street in Vernazza. Some people managed to garden in such confined spaces. Gelati became our tradition every evening. The Cinquay Terra coastline as we rode the ferry to Riomaggiore.

Only one of the five coastal villages did not have a harbor. That town could be seen on a bluff overlooking the sea. Katie, Ben and Mark enjoy their ferry ride to Riomaggiore. Unlike Vernazza, Riomaggiore has a stone beach, so Ben and Katie got to work making rock cairns. Katie shows her unique style in cairn building. Rock cairns as art forms!

Painted tributes to the people who built the terraces that made farming possible in Cinquay Terra. The rock terraces used more stone than the Great Wall of China! Katie, Ben and Mark pause for their photo along the coastal path. A sailboat out on the peaceful Mediterranean Sea.
