IBIS World Industry Reports new!

IBIS provides Industry market research reports on over 1,300 U.S. industries, plus Canada Industries, China Industries, and Global Industries. You can find reports easily by browsing by industry sector, by SIC or NAICS codes, or simply searching by keyword.

These reports are vital to any research projects involving company or industry analysis.

Industry Essays from Gale

Access over 1,400 recent essays on industries from the United States and Global that provide a narrative analysis on industries and products. Industry Essays provide industry overviews with detailed information including organization and structure; background and development; and industry leaders and current conditions. To find these essays, go to our Business Insights: Essentials database click on the "Industries" tab, and then select the "Industry Essays" sub-tab. Then, search for your report.

Industry Overviews from Gale

Access over 900 industry overviews that include detailed information as well as interactive rankings and statistics, with quick links to associated content. To find these overviews, go to our Business Insights: Essentials database click on the "Industries" tab, and then slect the "All Industries" sub-tab. Then, search for your report.

Industry Overviews from Mergent Online

Mergent Online provides 25 broad industry overviews covering the regions of North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. These are updated twice per year. These excellent overviews are about 30-35 pages in length.


Manufacturing & Distribution USA Online
(2017)

A guide to economic activity in 458 manufacturing industries, providing analysis and synthesis of federal statistics. Up to 75 leading companies in each industry are ranked by sales, with addresses, number of employees, and other information. Selected business ratios are given for each industry.

NetAdvantage - Industry Overviews

Contains large Industry Surveys (and overviews of markets) for leading companies in 52 industries. Search by company or industry. Standard & Poor's stock analysis is available for public companies.

Plunkett Reports

Over 500 recent reports on industries providing Analytics, Deep Financial Benchmarks, Metrics and Revenue Forecasts. These will help you get a big picture of what is happening in an industry. To find these reports, go to our Business Insights: Essentials database click on the "Industries" tab, and select the "Plunkett Reports" sub-tab. Then, search for your report.

RKMA Marketing Research Handbooks

Richard K. Miller & Associates (RKMA) publishes 12 biennial business reference handbooks focused on marketing and the consumer marketplace. Each handbook includes market assessments and forecasts, sector trends, profiles of market leaders, and statistics. In addition to in-depth analyses, the handbooks include links to hundreds of websites for additional information. Online versions of these reports accessible to UMD faculty, students and staff via the links found in each description.
